Health: can you get sunburn through a window?
Self-tutoring about effects from sun: the tutor asks a question he thought he knew the answer to.
Apparently, yes, you can get sunburned through a window. The reason is that UV from the sun includes more than one kind:
- UVB gets screened out by glass.
- UVA can pass through glass, as much as 50%.
Therefore, it’s indeed possible to get sunburned through glass. Who knew?
