Yard work: equipment, part 1
Self-tutoring about yard work: the tutor mentions some equipment he uses.
Last night was perfect for yard work – clear, with a slight chill in the air from around 6:30pm to dark. My guess is that it was around 8C.
While yard clean-up might be carried out various times during winter, I usually start weeding after spring arrives. It’s a bit of an adjustment, especially first day.
For weeding equipment, I use a kneeboard, a paint scraper, and a planting tub in which I put the pulled weeds. When the tub gets full, I empty it into a paper yard waste bag.
Even last night, mosquitoes found me, and perhaps midges as well. I don’t use insect repellent; the bugs never seem bad enough to warrant it. That said, they can be surprisingly persistent, as was hinted last night.
