Mechanics: carb cleaner vs mass air flow sensor cleaner
Self-tutoring about mechanics: the tutor mentions a discovery that surprised him.
The following is according to my understanding.
As I mention in yesterday’s post, I am servicing an 11-year-old lawn mower which has been surging. I realize I might need to clean its carburetor – at least superficially.
I thought I could use carb cleaner, but perhaps that’s not the best choice: as I understand, the lawn mower has a plastic carburetor, while carb cleaner, it seems, is meant for metal ones. I’ve learned that, perhaps, I should try mass air flow sensor cleaner instead, which is apparently safe on plastic.
The investigation continues.
