Anthropology: organic solidarity
Tutoring anthropology, the cohesion of a society is an important concept. The tutor defines organic solidarity.
organic solidarity:
cohesion achieved in a complex society wherein work is specialized to the extent that one worker cannot perform the duties of someone in a different job. For instance, an electrician cannot be replaced by a teacher.
In a society with organic solidarity, the typical worker cannot meet their survival needs without trading. Since the workers of different professions all need each other to survive, cohesion is achieved.
