Calculus: the derivative of root x

The tutor offers a quick hint about a derivative that can be tricky.

Example: find the derivative of √x

Solution:

    1. Rewrite √x as x^0.5
    2. Take the derivative using the power rule:
      (x^0.5)’ = 0.5x^(-0.5)
    3. You may want to rewrite, perhaps as
      1/(2√x)

You can find refreshment about converting between radicals and exponents in my post here.
