Computer Science: Python

The tutor starts about Python.

I met the programming language Python about three years ago. It’s got the quick scriptiness of Perl, along with object-oriented capabilities. Furthermore, it’s applicable to small devices, like phones.

Python’s got a great IDE: IDLE. It runs the current line of code when you press ENTER, so you immediately know if a command will work.

From my experience, Linux (Ubuntu, anyway) has on-board Python capabilities. However, IDLE itself likely isn’t native, though it’s easy to download, perhaps via the Ubuntu Software Centre. (That’s how I did it.)

For Linux or Windows, Python can be found here. I’ve downloaded it to Windows 7, although I admit not lately. In a coming post I’ll talk more specifically about doing so.
