Self-tutoring about European politics and economics: the tutor looks into Brexit.
Apparently, The UK opted out of the EU because it rejected the EU’s economic policies, which EU members are all expected to follow. The British public, by a narrow majority it seems, believed that the thrifty measures adopted out of Brussels may not be to Britain’s benefit.
Perhaps by way of example, in 2022, the UK’s budget deficit was 5.5% of GDP, whereas for EU it was 3.4%.
