Economics: US deficit vs Canada’s GDP, 2020
Self-tutoring about economics: the tutor looks at a curious comparison.
In 2020, the US budget deficit was 3.13 trillion; Canada’s GDP for that year was 1.65 trillion. That means, in rough figures, that the US government borrowed almost twice Canada’s entire production that year.
Interesting, eh?
