English: storey
Self-tutoring about English and home computer use: the tutor mentions an observation.
Sometimes, an ancient person (your correspondent) remembers words that aren’t common, and that the spell checker (much younger than myself) may not have learned. I’ll take such as a compliment.
This spell-checker is questioning storey, yet it’s a valid word, and refers to a floor in a building: a two-floor house can be called a two-storey house.
When I was a kid, the word storey was almost always used in such context: you’d hear about a 20 storey building. Now, you might hear “floor” more often.
