Grocery shopping: two-dollar pineapple

Self-tutoring about spontaneous shopping: the tutor mentions a situation yesterday.

I was in a different part of town yesterday, getting my son’s tires changed over for winter. (Which in itself is a fun story…I hope to mention it in a coming post.) As it happened, therefore, I was in proximity to a store I like, but don’t always go to.

I walked in for one specific thing that’s a very good deal at that store, not expecting to walk into two-dollar pineapple. Yet, there it was: I picked up three. Then I went and picked up the other item; after self-check-out, etc, I was there about 10min.

I headed next to another store, again for a specific thing, to stumble on strawberries at 4.50 per pound. The price wasn’t even posted; I had to scan a flat of them to see for myself.

Shopping takes attention and concentration, but there are rewards waiting for those who do. I got lucky on Friday:)
