Lawn care: calcitic lime vs dolomitic, part0

Self-tutoring about lawn care: the tutor begins about two common types of lime.

Calcitic lime is CaCO₃. Used to elevate the pH of the soil, it’s relatively fast-acting, perhaps taking effect in a few weeks.

Dolomitic lime is a mix of CaCO₃ with MgCO₃: what makes it dolomitic is the significant presence of MgCO₃. Used to elevate the pH of the soil, it will take effect over a few months instead of a few weeks.
