Metals: bronze vs brass, part 1

Self-tutoring about metals: the tutor mentions bronze and brass.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, while brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Both are used in industry.

Bronze tends to be harder than brass. While they’re both corrosion-resistant, bronze seems to have the advantage in saltwater. Bronze was known in 3500BCE; brass is much more recent, from around 500BCE.

Both bronze and brass are excellent conductors of electricity.
