Mobile phones: why I don’t charge mine overnight
Self-tutoring about mobile phones: the tutor mentions a habit he now avoids.
I used to leave my phone to charge overnight, then wake up to it at, or close to, 100 percent. I don’t do that anymore, for a couple of reasons:
The first reason is that my phone, now a Moto G Play (see a post about it here) seems to charge in about two hours.
The second reason is that, apparently, it’s not good to charge a phone to 100 percent. Rather, it seems, staying between 20 and 80 percent is best.
Taking those two things in consideration, along with how well the phone seems to treat me, I don’t want to put it under stress. Nowadays, I only need to charge it once every few days, and do so in the morning.
