US Law: Duty to Retreat

Self-tutoring about US law: the tutor mentions the concept of “Duty to Retreat.”

Duty to Retreat is, to a layperson, somewhat the opposite of Stand Your Ground. Duty to retreat means that, if you believe you can escape harm from other people, it’s your duty to run rather than fight.

Duty to retreat does not apply when you are at home. In some states it may not apply when you are at work.
