Web design: html canvas sizing

Self-tutoring about web design: the tutor mentions a discovery about the html canvas tag.

In my experience, the dimensions of a canvas area need be given in that tag’s definition, not as style, but rather just height and width. For example:

<canvas id=”canvasx” height=”500″ width=”600″>

Once again, in my experience, height=”500px” width=”600px” may also be acceptable.
