Yard work: parsley: shade tolerant?

Self-tutoring about yard work: the tutor mentions the apparent robustness of parsley.

To my knowledge, parsley has always grown in the yard I maintain. Perhaps previous occupants planted it; perhaps it escaped from somewhere else. It’s well established, however it arrived.

The parsley grows along the foundation, both of the house and also the shed. It tries to expand further into the yard, but isn’t allowed to. I’d say it grows year-round, at least some years.

Some of the parsley grows in full sun, while its sister plants, a foot north and on the other side of a light-blocking fence, grow in what one might call virtually full shade – or close enough. Yet, the parsley on the sunny side seems not to have advantage over that on the shaded side.

I looked up parsley to confirm it’s meant to be shade tolerant, which apparently it is. Just how independent this parsley is of direct sun I still find impressive.
