Mechanics: unsticking the bolt

Self-tutoring about mechanics: the tutor mentions success removing a stuck bolt.

In yesterday’s post I mention a very difficult bolt that was so stuck, I rounded its corners trying to remove it. Next, I had to file edges back on said bolt, afterwards continuing to work toward its removal.

In the end, I did remove the bolt, through a combination of applying WD-40, knocking it with a chisel (another recommendation of Ultimate Handyman), and hammering the end of a wrench whose other end was on the bolt. The process took a very long time; I wondered whether it would ever work. Yet, indeed, it finally did.

The bolt was in surprisingly good shape, when it finally came out.
