Exercise and fitness: plateaux, part1
Self-tutoring about fitness training: the tutor examines plateaux in strength training.
I mention in my post from March 3, 2019 the idea of reaching a plateau in strength training and one strategy to navigate it.
Naturally, people like to see progress while training. Yet, how measurable should it be?
I got the impression in this article at paulwilliamscoaching.ca that what seems like a plateau can actually be a more like a step on a stairway. Progress might be happening constantly, but not measurably. At some point, the progress will accumulate enough to manifest in an extra rep, capability to lift extra weight, or what have you.
Next, perhaps, the trainer will find they remain at that new level for some time: it might seem like a new plateau. Might, in fact, progress actually look more like moving from one plateau to another, at a certain level of training?
