Autos: 2007 Jeep Liberty: overdrive?

Self-tutoring about autos: the tutor makes an observation.

I noticed a button on the driver side of the shifter knob on a 2007 Jeep Liberty. (It’s automatic, but I’ll still call it the “shifter knob.”)

I’ve never used the button, but my reading suggests it may be an “overdrive-off” button.
