Autos: side marker lights

Self-tutoring about autos: the tutor mentions side marker lights.

Side marker lights are near the front (amber) or the rear (red) of a passenger car, but on its sides. They are designed to make a car visible when it’s crossing your path. Such is my understanding, anyway.
