Biology: rabies: one potential early sign
Self-tutoring about rabies: the tutor mentions an observation.
Apparently, the first symptom of rabies can be a change in demeanor. For instance, a friendly animal may become ornery. On the other hand, an animal typically aloof may become surprisingly friendly.
I read about this phenomenon in reference to skunks, who are vulnerable to acquiring rabies. In such case, a wild skunk may begin acting tame, possibly allowing a child to approach. Yet, the change could be a warning sign: one should maintain separation (as natural from wild animals).
