Electronic lifestyle: what if smartphone won’t charge when plugged in?

Self-tutoring about the smartphone lifestyle: the tutor mentions a problem he faced.

As I recall, I’ve been using the same smartphone a couple of years now. It’s a hand-me-down, but worked fine when I got it.

At first, the phone would do fast charging, which I loved. As time went on, however, it was harder to get the phone connected well enough for it do fast charge. Yet it would charge at normal speed reliably enough.

Perhaps a couple of months back, even getting the phone to charge normally became prohibitively difficult. I looked around for a solution; one idea was to try cleaning the charging contact with canned air. I did so, both on the phone and the USB plug from the charger.

Right afterwards, the phone did charge normally, so I was happy. However, since then, the phone has continued to improve its charging: now, it seems to fast charge fairly easily.

Interesting, eh?
