Email: Gmail: labels

Self-tutoring about email programs: the tutor navigates the idea of labels in Gmail.

I’m not typically a person who embraces new ways to do things, especially if “the old way” has worked fine.

I wanted to make a new folder for one of my Gmail accounts, but then learned of labels. It seems to me that, in Gmail, labels are what you’re meant to use to organize emails into categories, move them from your inbox, etc.

Well, it turns out that using labels is pretty easy and they do have some potential advantages over folders. Yet it seems to me that one can use a label just like one would use a folder, moving an email into a label, for instance. Therefore, that’s what I do.
