Exercise and fitness: how much to stay fit?
Self-tutoring about exercise and fitness: the tutor discusses an idea he often contemplates.
Over the years I’ve followed various exercise regimens. Sometimes I’ve had lots of time to do exercise, while others I’ve had to fit it in. The question of how much is needed, per week, is recurring.
These days, to avoid gaining weight, as well as stay fit, it seems I need three 45 minute exercise sessions per week. These include a warm-up, about 20 minutes of cardio that gets fairly intense, then a cool-down, next some muscle toning, and finally a few stretches.
Interestingly, the Mayo Clinic seems to recommend more exercise, per week, than I’m doing:)
