Food: homemade hummus

Self-tutoring about homemade food: the tutor mentions hummus.

Yesterday I made hummus for a low-fat vegan diet. Therefore, I couldn’t use olive oil or tahini.

I started mashing up chick peas with a potato masher, then added some lemon juice, some garlic, and a bit of salt. I adjusted the garlic upward, but the lemon downward, as I mashed in more chick peas.

I’d say my ratios turned out to be about two cans of chick peas, three tablespoons of lemon juice, a head of garlic, and salt to taste (not much). With pita bread, the hummus seemed good enough.
