Self-tutoring about history and politics: the tutor mentions the curiosity of Guantanamo Bay.

I guess it’s been 15 years since Barack Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay’s military detention centre. I recall his making the announcement on TV, noting he’s left-handed as he signed the order to close Guantanamo’s prison.

I also guess that Guantanamo’s prison is still open. One could argue that wasn’t Obama’s fault, since it seems Congress failed to facilitate the closure.

In US politics, the President sometimes has less power than one might imagine.
