Lifestyle: fingernail mend with super glue

Self-tutoring about daily problem solving: the tutor mentions a fix.

I broke a nail a couple months back. It tore so badly it cut the skin underneath. I taped it, but realized that, broken like so, the nail would continue to get irritated. What to do?

“We’ll fix it with super glue,” my wife commented casually. We bought the super glue next time out. Back home, we applied it carefully, keeping it from touching skin.

Unaware how long drying might take, I kept the finger out of action for a few hours after applying the glue. Then, the nail was practically good as new.

A few days later I had to reapply the glue. I think, when that wore off, the nail had progressed to the point it could stand alone.

I seem to recall reading, on the package, that the glue could be used to mend fingernails. It sure worked for me:)
