Materials, STEM: hot glue, part 2
Self-tutoring about fastening materials: the tutor continues about hot glue.
The following is according to my understanding.
I mention in my post from March 15 about using hot glue to pre-fasten pieces of cloth together for sewing. For such purpose, the hot glue was very effective.
Where hot glue proved less effective was in holding something non-porous, of fixed shape, to something porous that can change shape. In my experience, at such a junction fastened by hot glue, the porous, flexible material tends to pull apart from the rigid, non-porous material.
