Math, philosophy: unlikelihood
Self-tutoring about math and life: the tutor mentions an unlikely event.
Today I was using a new software package. Naturally enough, I decided to test the random function. It was modelling rolling a die, and I wanted to make sure it could return each number 1 through 6.
A 3 didn’t appear until the 21st simulated roll. The probability of that happening is ((5/6)^20)*(1/6) or about 0.4%. Yet, it happened.
Unlikely events happen:)
