Philosophy: modernism and postmodernism
Self-tutoring about philosophy: the tutor begins about modernism and postmodernism.
The following is my interpretation of modernism and postmodernism:
Modernism is a belief in universal truths by which the world inevitably can be understood. Postmodernism, on the other hand, rejects – or at least is skeptical of – universal truth. To a postmodernist, one person’s reality may not be another’s; there really is no “right” and “wrong.”
Our society seems to be modernist about some broad topics, but postmodernist about others.
