Plumbing: plunger vs drain opener
Self-tutoring about plumbing: the tutor continues about freeing up a bathtub drain.
In yesterday’s post I begin about activities to unclog a bathtub drain. Once I had the drain cover off, I had to decide how to proceed.
I’ve used drain opener to free up a shower drain, and checked to confirm we had some on hand. Next, I consulted a handyperson’s manual about opening drains. Interestingly, it didn’t seem to mention using drain opener; instead, it suggested using a plunger or even an auger.
Thinking about it, I decided to try a plunger. I’d know instantly if it worked, rather than waiting 15 minutes or so. It turned out to work; I had the drain open, from using the plunger, in less than a minute.
