Self-tutoring about psychology: the tutor mentions fear of eating in public.
Apparently, around three percent of the population reports having phobia of eating in public.
Phobia of eating in public seems not to be mentioned very often. Compared with fear of bridges or crowds, it’s much easier to avoid. Yet, eating in public is such an important part of life for so many people, it’s interesting to imagine those few who see it happening around them but don’t participate.
Just by way of comparison, fear of being alone was reported by about four percent of those surveyed.
