Vocabulary: diffuse: another meaning

Tutoring English, surprises arrive. The tutor takes another look at diffuse.

In my previous post I mention diffuse and a common way it’s used in science. Yet, it has another meaning:

diffuse (adj):using many words: opposite of concise. A message can be diffuse.

In a way it’s related to diffuse’s verb meaning to spread out: if many words are used to convey a message, you can imagine the meaning itself is thinly spread among the words that tell it.
