Agriculture, Canadian geography, retrospect: Nova Scotia
Self-tutoring about Nova Scotia agriculture: the tutor looks into its dairy industry.
When I was a kid in the Annapolis Valley, dairy farming was easy to notice. In summer, the stately Holstein cows (black and white) wandered leisurely on broad, green pastures, easily visible from the road as one drove by. Dairy farming, someone mentioned to me, meant prosperity.
Out of curiosity, I looked up Nova Scotia’s agricultural output, wondering if dairying would be in the lead. Apparently, in 2020, in Nova Scotia, dairying, at $178M, came second to eggs and poultry, at $188M.
