Exercise and fitness: hill running

Self-tutoring about training: the tutor reflects about an activity he’s recently begun.

Years ago I kept fit by running, but gave it up around 2015 because I started to feel it in the hips.

Yet, recently, I’ve begun a new mode of running: hill running. I don’t necessarily mean just up then down; it can be done along a level stretch with a hill at the end.

The hill arrests the speed while still allowing maximum effort. I found, years ago, that at top speed my joints complained. However, uphill they don’t, because the speed I reach is less than on flat ground.

Hill running is a good example, for me, of hiit, which I mentioned last August.
