Gardening: wildflowers: cosmos

Self-tutoring about flowers that appear: the tutor mentions cosmos flowers.

I mention in my post on July 12 that I planted a mix of wildflower seeds in the spring. A few different ones have come up, including the black-eyed susans I mention in that post. Yesterday a new bloom appeared.

The plant looked familiar to me, with distinct, lacy leaves. The flower is pink, having eight petals, with a purple ring around its center; the center itself is yellow.

Searching around, it seems to be a cosmos flower.
