Home computer use: flash drives: FAT32?
Self-tutoring about day-to-day life with computers: the tutor shares….
I’ve been experimenting with Linux lately, which of course means making bootable USB drives. After picking up my grade 10 son from high school yesterday, my wife fetched me four small ones. They all came FAT32.
Why FAT32? Compatibility, it turns out: Mac, Linux, Windows, and numerous devices are compatible with FAT32. NTFS, for instance, is better for many applications, but perhaps still doesn’t enjoy the compatibility that FAT32 does. When you’re migrating among devices, compatibility is perhaps number one.
