Internet: searching for less crowded surfing locations

Self-tutoring about Internet surfing: the tutor mentions a familiar problem.

In the physical world, one might find a great place to visit. Over the years, other people find it, too, so it becomes crowded. Eventually, it’s barely worth going there, because of overcrowding. One then needs to replace it with a new discovery; that’s life.

Surfing the Internet can be similar. Some sites I used to count on have become so bloated with ads that, when one reaches them, one can hear one’s computer speed up as various animations, etc, flood one’s CPU. Such a site has become so popular because of its excellent content; now, accessing that content is less convenient because so many other people also want it.

In such a case I look for a new source of that content, and often find a blog, for instance, that’s a little less traveled and resource-demanding. After all, there is so much out there to find, on the Internet:)
